Ink a Tree was established in response to sorrow and fueled by hope, which inspired the creation of "People Matter!"
Our People Matter Program extends a lifeline to survivors of suicide struggling with the shadows of unexpected loss, mental health crises, or substance abuse battles. By extending a helping hand, we aim to connect those in distress with a network of community resources tailored to their specific needs. Our hope is to raise awareness about suicide prevention and instill a sense of possibility and resilience in those who may feel overwhelmed by despair. We believe that every life is precious, every voice deserves to be heard, and we are dedicated to making a tangible difference in their lives.
Addiction and subtle influences on individuals and families may create a process that erodes inner strength and moral character. It creates a life of emptiness and hopelessness manifested by feelings of being unloved, unimportant, and inadequate. This gradual decline of self-esteem drives individuals to destruction and often to escape. The “People Matter” component of Ink a Tree offers individuals the opportunity to become educated on addiction, the impact it has on thoughts and behaviors, and how those thoughts can increase the potential for self-harm. An assessment can be provided to individuals that need to determine if treatment is right for them. We believe supporting the individual’s right of choice will be integral to our role as an advocate, seeking the best course of action or outcome.
